[Edward Snowden said] that there is more to life than material comfort or career stability or trying to simply prolong your life as long possible. What he continuously told me is he judged his life not by the things he thought about himself but by the actions he took in pursuit of those beliefs.
Beeindruckend ist es.
Und Mut macht es.
Und Hoffnung.
Insbesondere auch dies:
You should never doubt your ability to change the world.
Mhm … manchmal dauert es nur etwas laenger … aber nach 10 Jahren (teils massivem) „Gegenwind“ und Mund fusselig reden, sehe auch ich so langsam, dass dies stimmt :)
Und das ist schon ziemlich toll, wenn „die Leute“ ebenso erkennen, dass …
[…] ultimately, the thing that matters most is that the rights that we know we have as human beings are rights that we ought to exercise and that nobody can take away from us and the only way those rights can ever be taken away is if we give in to the fear that is being deliberately imposed.
